These pins look a little long and a bit too narrow. I purchased these when I got the Super Beetle tow bar. Are there better pins for this setup? Thanks!

Is the pin loose in the hole?

This photo should show that the pins are not a tight fight.

Yes, too loose and too long.
Too much play leads to even more play and likelihood of issues.

Get a tight fitting pin and drill a new hole for the retaining pin. Even put some washers on it to fill the space between the "ears". The tighter the better so it not flopping around moving back and forth.
