I have a 76' and I need to remove my passenger door panel to replace a broken door stop hinge. Do the panels clip in, or do I need to unscrew something? Instructions would be appreciated. I don't want to break something else.

Sheet metal screws along the bottom under the arm rest.

Plastic inserts with sockets in the sheet metal along the sides - pull straight out & be careful not to damage the fiber board in the panel. New inserts & sockets are still available.

Clips along the top - pull down on the panel when all the other hardware is removed.

It's easy to remove the panel. The plastic inserts & sockets might be brittle & NFG anymore. The inserts twist into the fiber board & are easily replaced.

It's really handy to have one of this type of tool for the plastic things. It allows you to apply force on both sides and get under the lip of the plastic thing which will make them less likely to break or to pull out from the door panel damaging the slot/hole they twist into.

Don’t forget the 5mm socket head screw at the top of the door pull. It threads into the door…..

When it comes time to apply the plastic moisture barrier between the metal of the door and the panel, use two sided tape applied to the door first. Then you can easily line up the translucent moisture barrier.

The tape I used really held well to the metal yet it was easy to remove and reuse the moisture barrier when it came time to replace the door handle when some dickwad broke into the car. The two sided tape stayed stuck to the door and was tacky enough to hold the moisture barrier a second time.

Good luck-removing the door panel is quite quick and easy once you see how it's done.
