I just noticed my 20-year 914-Word Anniversary when I signed up Feb 24th 2003. Happy Anniversary Tom smilie_pokal.gif

I bought my 914 for $400 bucks then spent 2,500 man-hours of personal time restoring my 914 20-years ago. I could not have done it without you guys/gals. wub.gif

Thank you Sir Andy for this wonderful trip on 914 World pray.gif

Because, if I recall, he was so busy migrating everything from the previous site he forgot to join up for a bit..

Andy does a ton of work to keep things working.

Brad and i set up the original 914club website in December 2002, just before christmas. We didn't even have any web hosting at that point, we were running it straight off an old desktop computer at his house.

I didn't actually join as a member until late January of 2003 when we moved everything to a hosted environment on one of the spare servers of my then company.

Congrats Tom, car really looks wonderful. When I went from Club to World back then, I was not sure if there would be a place for 914's for long. But SirAndy picked up the baton and has made a home for all of us. Thank You Andy smile.gif

I'm currently in my 19th year here. My 20 year anniversary will be in December.
Apparently I joined 2 years before I even bought a car, during the daydreaming phase. I remember that. Looking at 944s and Ghias and 240Zs for ages before finally buying a house with a garage and buying my 914.

I go back to the DGI 914 site days. How long ago was that.....

December 5th, 2003 for me so 20 years will come later this year. Was on 914Club first though and somehow missed when the split took place. I think I have an older login here, this thread has me wondering. I’ll have to see if I can find that login info. Maybe Andy or some other admin can consolidate those accounts.

I would like to say though…Andy, although I’ve never met you, a sincere, heartfelt, thank you for everything you’ve given over the 20+ years of running this site. I know you’ve given an enormous amount of your time for the benefit of this community. You (and the other admins, too) are the glue that has made the 914 community one that the guys of other car communities are envious of.

AFAIK This is your one and only login, you joined December 2003. When we split from 914club in 2006, both 914club and 914world got to retain the same original database. There was no "restart" so to speak. All history prior to the 2006 split has been preserved (sans some of the offsite images that aren't available anymore).

@SirAndy . I found my old login. It is from 2009. I think I forgot my login info for the Rob-o account and didn’t have access to the e-mail address so I could reset my password. So I started a new account thinking I’d never be able to get the Rob-o login back. My 2009 persona is Rob-o1167. The avatar is a Stop sign that says collaborate and listen. Looks like about 50+ posts there.

I missed my 20 year anniversary about a month ago. Hard to believe it's been that long. I've made some amazing friendships along the way, and could not have my 914 without all the expertise that this group so gladly shares.
