I found this part under my car in the general area of the engine bay passenger side. It could have been kicked around though...

Don't recall seeing it when I was dismantling the car.

It is about 3 1/8" long and has two M6 threaded holes.

I believe this goes behind the engine deckled release mechanism. Sore of a backing plate...

But……:can you open the deck lid to check?

Looks like a tape measure to me ...

To be more specific it appears to be a Stanley 25' self retracting measuring tape that still retains its' original finish. The color might be a bit off in the photo, but to my eye it appears to be Sunflower Yellow (L13K). Those of you who are more knowledgeable (which I fully admit is the vast majority of the members of this forum) could probably correct me, but the tang appears to be stainless steel and it retains its' original rivets.
