Restoring a 914-6……engine is apart for build.
Looking for information on best method for cleaning mag case and fan housing etc…
i.e. vapor blasting, or something reliable to give a like new finish.

Yes. You are blasting a mix of water and glass bead at the engine. It needs to be cleaned really thoroughly afterward. We vapor blast, clean multiple times and then throw it in the ultrasonic.
Unless you just have to have a pretty case, I would soda blast it. It cleans it without the downside of glass beading. Mag (bare magnesium) goes grey no matter what you do to prep it.
