IIRC.. they changed the way the rev limiter worked in the 75-76 cars because the California cars had a catalyst. The rev limiting rotor kills the ignition and that dumps raw, unburned fuel into the exhaust. That that is definitely not good for a catalyst.
So they put in a rev limiter into the fuel system. Basically, it turns off the injectors when the target RPM is reached.
Unfortunately, I can't find a copy of PET online that actually shows any D-jet wiring diagram, and they only show the hard parts for the 1.7 fuel system. So I can't get you a part number for the actual rev limiter.
I know I had a 75 L-Jet wiring harness with the connections for the rev limiter. But I got threatened with evil things if I ever put a rev limiter in any form on the orange car.
