I have been struggling with wiper blades since I first got this car. Seems I have the skillset to build a strong running 2056, but can't sort out wiper blades. I just recently purchased a set of Bosch wiper blades from 914Rubber (40713s) as a result of searching through the forums here. Figured they would snap right on where all other blades I have tried were too wide for the arms and would flop around. Well, they don't snap right on. Note this is is in NO WAY a flame against 914Rubber. I have purchased parts there before and appreciate all that they do. But still these don't fit. My attempt went so wrong as to draw blood, as seen below (pics always help).

I won't bore y'all with the specifics of how this happened, but rest assured it was a lack of planning (stupidity) on my part. The Bosch 40713s will, almost, go onto my wiper arms, but are very very difficult to snap in (hence the blood), as the wiper arms seem just barely to wide. So, are my wiper arms wrong? Are the Bosch 40713s the wrong blade? I'd really like to sort this out as I'd like to be able to road trip this car, but without wipers I am understandably reluctant to take anything longer than short day trips.

Any and all help appreciated...

40713's are 9mm, you need 7mm.

There are a number of good threads on this. wink.gif

I see your arms are painted. If they are close it could be thick paint / powder coat. I baked paint on mine, so I will watch for this.

You can buy the 7mm clip, I bought like 8 of them so I won't have to buy them again.

Very helpful, thank you. I ordered a few of the 7mm clips. Hopefully no more bleeding over wiper blades!

They were around $8 each a few years back when I ordered them.

$30 gets you the correct parts. Seems like a no-brainer. They also work on my Bug, why I got 8 of them.

It's cheaper than buying the a new wiper assembly that comes with the correct clip.

Is there a cheaper place to get just the 7mm clips?
