Anyone have a shop or someone they can recommend to weld front and rear sway bars in Bay Area. Peninsula preferred. Cheers

Well at least the fender-well mount plates.

I’m from Massachusetts, but I did find a Porsche shop in SF.
Union square, directly across the street from the courtyard marriot front door.

Pacific Power Motorsports have been my go-to since I got my car, and have been working on my dad's 911 for over 15 years. The owner's name is Eric.
I stopped by last week and they were working on a yellow 914, I think they were reinforcing the chassis for a 6-swap, so pretty sure they could put in sway bars for you.

I have heard mixed thoughts from different shops on the welding in the plates? Necessary in a street car?

I will second Eric at Pacific Power Motorsports in Walnut Creek. And, yes, please install them correctly by welding in the appropriate brackets.

The factory spot welded the plates in... on just the ext. fender well.
There was no reinforcing or nut plate in the (gas tank) side OE.
That is perhaps where the confusion is.

As welding was needed, I went with the additional bracing.
MadDogs front swaybar reinforcements.
Necessary for the street, maybe not.
Even though it is a rust free ( easy guys ) car,
That is very structurally sound, it is 50 year old metal.
So why not?? Better safe than sorry.
Rear sway has Brad Mayeur's mounts.
Which are welded.
He provided both complete sway packages.
Which are very nice.

Thanks for the references a bit further than I’d like to go but I will definitely be getting in touch with them.
Have the original sway bars and brackets so should be good to go
