I received a new driveshaft with CV joints but may have a problem. It looks like the new CV joints will not work with the stub axle. A 3/8" drill bit will fit the old roll pin hole but the new CVs do not seem to have a hole big enough for the roll pin. The space for the paper gasket looks to be different as well.

The distributor is closed today and I need to get my car back together this weekend for Okteenerfest.

Can you guys tell me if there is a way to make this work?

Looks like VW axle NOT 914. PMB axle kit takes VW Bug CV and cuts collar for gasket and drills hole for roll pin.

It looks like you may have them backwards. Did you buy these for a 914-4 specifically? If the other side has the gasket surface machined, the roll pin hole on that side should be larger.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll put a used one back in today so I can make Okteenerfest and return this one.

This is a quote from the website where I placed the order "All CV's have been machined to accept a factory gasket and 10x20 roll pins."

This one must have missed the QC check before it was shipped.
