Trying to clean the sealing surfaces of my case. Used brake clean and acetone to no avail. Data sheets from Locktite are no help.

Anyone have a secret?

I've used these chemicals before:
Acetone
B12 carb spray
Alcohol
Goo gone- adhesive remover.
Human spit- works great on some things, won't help your situation.
WD/40
Naphtha-mineral spirits
Dawn dish soap- original formula if you can find it. The "Professional" version found in big pump bottles is what I use. Think industrial here.

Heat sometimes helps.

I'll often use straight Exacto blades to "shave" as much of the BS off as possible.
Dragging them at just past vertical sometimes works great.
Use BRAND new blade for any dragging, any damage to blade can scratch surface.
I buy them in packs of 50.
Old school straight razors are a go to as well.

With straight razors, B12, and WD40 I can clean a modern MLS deck surface better than an abrasive disc and I DO NOT change the RMS of the finish. MLS gaskets require a specific RMS finish to function. Getting the surface too smooth is a problem with these.

Super fine steel wool (used with an above chemical).
Scotch Bright- I use the real 3M purple. You have to have a soft touch with this.
This works best with soap/water. Most chemicals hurt the SB.

Another member came up with a KILLER back pad goo removal technique.
Orange (citrus based) hand cleaner.

It worked SO well for him I'm gonna try that FIRST on my next "can't get this shit off" problem.

Razor blade and brown scotch brite. We do it every day, including today.
