Hi there,

Last year I bought a stash of parts which also contained 2 axles. As I was going to refresh my axles and cv joints I started cleaning them up and got the axle shafts powdercoated.

When putting the CV joints back on I noticed that I had two different axle shafts ....

Both are same size (abt 51.5 cm long end to end and abt 45 cm fm teeth to teeth). One has 33 splines and the other 25 splines.

The 33 is the normal 914/4 axle shaft but what is the one with the 25 splines ? A bus ? 914/6 ?

If I measure well the one is 26 mm in diameter and the other one 28 mm ...

note : I re-used my original axle shafts so all good now. The above ones are on the shelf

thks yr help

25 spline =/6

Porsche is currently selling new CV’s (25 spline) but they do so under the /4 part number.

For the /4 CV, you either find semi-rare NOS or go to the usual vendors for VW CV joints machined to fit the /4.
