The speedometer drive gear bushing is leaking transmission fluid on my car, which doesn't have a speed angle drive.

The existing bushing appears to have a bunch of epoxy over where the drive gear would go and that's not where it's leaking. Rather it's leaking between the bushing and case. I

I'm confident one of the updated double o-ring bushings would do the trick, as it did on my 914-6 street car,, but I'm curious what the best approach would be to plug and make the void where the angle drive would normally go on the track car? There must be a more elegant way than just gooping it up with epoxy like I currently have?

Don’t have a picture handy of the inside

But we took the center /drive out
Then TIG welded the aluminum housing to close the hole

Reinstalled an tightened
Put a plastic cap over it

Makes sense. That was the solution I was thinking of, so glad to hear someone else has done it.
