I have a 1974 914 2.0 L with original "basketweave" pattern seat material. I have seen the "checkerboard" pattern material from a 1975 914. I am looking for an original driver's side cushion to replace my current torn cushion. Can anyone tell me if the "basketweave" pattern was only used for 1974 cars? Thanks.

I know for sure it was used in 73 also and am 99% sure it was used prior to that. When you shop ask for pictures.

Basket weave '70-74, except '71 which was smooth. All seat cushions interchange (except '70-71 passenger side).
Only '74 (and '73?) has the seat belt interlock wiring.

Camp 914 might have a good one.
