65 396 vette? If it's the real deal, those are smokin rare. Weren't they like 425 horse? Been a while since I've been into chevies, but those are not exactly common.. ohmy.gif
messix

way back 1984 I raced a 1970 Z-28 LT-1 350 , I had a hot 2.4 -6 in my 914-6, (Troy will know were this is) we raced from Harris Ford Down Hwy 99 past Dougs Lynnwood Dodge to the next light.
about a mile, The guy was revin his motor and wanted to race, OK He got the jump but I passed him in 3rd gear.
by time we stopped at the next light . He couldnt believe the 914 beat his ass. True story.

messix

bet it didn't have the orig lt1 350. and those were top end limited. no overdrive and 4 spd with 3.76 or 3.55 rear gears top spd with 3.55 was about 135 mph if you wanted to really use up the motor.7,200 rpm [ask me how i know]

and you got lucky not getting nailed by the cops.

we used to do lakecity way for the chicks, and go to renton for the street uhm..... unsanctioned contests of accelaration back behind the boeing shops. spanked a 454 vette once and had a freindly rivalry with a AAR 340 in a duster, fender length wins traded week to week. and this was done with a '75 chevy monza kind of a sleeper. almost ruined the street racing when i took to S.I.R once and ran faster than i thought it would go. had to ease off the rest of the day. racing heads up and only lost to 2 cars that came on trailers, not the only cars on slicks either.

Back behind Boeing Everett was 20th , were you around when they would race down airport road from the Checkered Flag Tavern. There was a KG that beat alot american iron.
