Rich and I have been communicating over the last year about the house they were planning to build. I introduced him to my friend at Extreme Panel. They manufacture SIP panels. I used them for my house. I received a text from my guy at Extreme Panel that he just heard from Lisa that Rich passed a way. So sorry for them. they were just ready to finalize one of their life's dreams.

I met Rich years ago at his house after I first got my 25-year resto project on the road.
Great guy. So much knowledge lost.
What a bummer. Damn.

Hello everyone, I am Richards son Abel. It is unfortunately true that my father passed away yesterday in his sleep. He was a great man and loved his Porsches. Him and I built my first one 20 years ago in highschool and got me hooked on cars. He brought me to autocross, and u told amounts of car shows. He fueld my passion for cars.
I haven't been active on here in years, but am going to try and be more. There are a couple projects that hi and I were doing that I will be finishing, but unfortunately will not have his knowledge to complete. I will need lots of help with things in the form of knowledge to finish his final projects.
Anyone local to us is welcome to come to a memorial on Sunday the 26th from 2-4 at the Groton Inn, Groton Ma.
He was a great man and will be truly missed

My condolences...
I lost my car freak Porsche nut father last June.
I miss him terribly.
I will make a special effort to help when you post.
I don't have your father's intrinsic knowledge of 914s but am a pretty good tech otherwise.
Feeling your pain.
It's mine too...

My heart breaks for Richard’s family, I can only imagine how much more esteemed he was in person than the was here in 914 land. I always loved when he posted on a thread, it was like getting free lessons from a pro! Abel, thank you for coming on to let us know. Praying for you all!

Wow.

I never met Rich, but considered him to be up there with John (aka) Krustry and the like who seemed to be staples of the larger 914 / Porsche community. Rich was super knowledgeable and didn't waste words. When he posted something I paid attention because I knew I was was likely to learn something. I hate that I'm not going to see new posts from him anymore.
So sorry for his family.

Rich was one of the first here to help me find a 914 and was a really good, smart and funny guy.
We had a lot of fun together at various 914 events, car shows, and in his barn. One of my favorite memories is when Linda and I came in second to Rich and Lisa at one of Chris' rally's....
I haven't been here in a while, wasn't expecting a punch in the stomach.
My condolences to his family.

I am shocked, a double whammy. Sunday, our dear seamstress Sue died, and now Rich (they knew each other) Rich was in good shape too, as was Sue. Two unfortunate losses for our community.

Rich was indeed one of our staple, early members here. I "always" enjoyed our meetings at Hershey. Rich would often send simple congratulatory texts and positive comments over the years. Now I'm left wishing I had one more chance to do the same.
Live and love large... you never know when your looming date will arrive.
My prayers are for you and your family Abel. Many of us share that father son bond that these, or similar vehicles create. Cherish those memories.
Godspeed and RIP Rich.

So sad to have opened the board and seen this. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Lisa and him at 914 events here in New England, mainly at Chris Foley’s or at events they hosted at their place.
Just too sad.
My heart goes out to Lisa, Abel and his family.
