@gint and I can’t attend this year. Same weekend as my sister’s wedding. I’m bummed to miss Winslow and La Posada.

Don’t want to miss this one. Going to see if I can get a teener this time.

I will convince my wife Staci that we are going. She was just saying that she wants to see the canyon. Trailer a gray 70 914-6 to start point from and back to Ohio. All meals and events. Jeff and Staci Fort.

#1.) I am thrilled that you and Staci will be joining us for the event . You are sure to have a fantastic time. This years itinerary hits on some of the best Route 66 has to offer.
#2.) I got your email. My reply was "Rejected due to local poilcy." So I thought I would post the clarification here, if others might have the same questions.

La Posada in Winslow is one night only. On Thursday we relocate (via the Grand Canyon) to the Best Western in Williams. We will stay there for three (3) nights. It will be our base of operations for all other drives and activities.
I considered 'trailer trash' when planning the event. Winslow to Williams is 90 miles on the Interstate. I am confident there are multiple logistical solutions.

Not sure yet if I can do a day or two of the trip, but if anyone is flying into PHX and driving up, you need to go up 87 through Payson, Strawberry and Pine to Winslow. A great drive with great scenery.

And the famous corner and flatbed Ford are an easy walk from the hotel.

You get in the car and keep filling it with gas for awhile . I will have to stop a few times to sleep if I go. I think it is a twenty something hour drive. Beware of snow with these May events. Category for trophy might be owner of best black 914 and red cayman. Have to look at the trophy store to see if they have those.

So, it is too far for me to drive from LA, but I think I can fly into Flagstaff and rent a car there. That is only an hour drive to Winslow and then 30 miles from Williams back to the airport in Flagstaff
Mark says his Son Nick will be coming is for the run from Germany where he lives. I believe He will drive marks Red 911 targa

Sounds like an awesome trip. I've made the Route 66 trip 3 times now (OKC to LA twice) and Chicago to LA the last time, but by far the most fun was the 2nd trip in my first 914 back in the late 70s. We were barely 21 at the time and didn't have a worry in the world.

Dig the camel. Really want to come back to it.

Is there any talk about bringing the Route 66 cruise somewhere in the Midwest? It's the only 914 event I have not done.

Absolutely. . . . when you plan it next year.
There was also some member from St. Louis who was very interested in the eastern section of the Route.

We are driving Rt66 from Chicago on May 10th heading West.
Only going as far as Amarillo TX.

will probably be driving the Cayman though. (Unless something changes)
