So I did a search on "exhaust studs". The results were terrifying ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Seems like about everyother time some tries to remove a bolt from the stud, it breaks, strips, or whatever. Resulting in all types of havoc.

So before I jump in trying to remove the HE, any tips from the experts? PB Blaster for about 10 days prior?

there is no sure fire method, especially if you don't know the history of the vehicle and what a PO might have done smash.gif

All of the above. PB Blaster (or Aero Kroyl), then tap with a hammer. Not hard, but not overly soft either. Once or twice per day, every day, for a week.

Pray, too.

It helps if the exhaust has been off the engine in the relatively recent past.

Heat can help, too.

Pray some more.

I think swearing in German (or cheesy fake German if you don't speak the real thing) helps.

Use good tools (sockets, etc.) when removing the nuts. Always make sure the tool is properly seated before you start trying to loosen.

Did I mention you could pray?
