Would like to get center temp gauge to work. Can't find it from the haynes manual. The 2.0 has previously installed webbers, so no fuel injection. There is an open spot on top of the engine, and a wire there with connector near by.Not a good idea to just plug stuff together. The ammeter(volts) works on counsole, as well as clock. Thanks to all for any ideas. Thanks to Sir Andy for help earlier. Larry Breen

the 914/4 oil temp sender is *under* the engine...
SirAndy
the temp gauge connects to the temp sender on the *bottom* of the engine.
the sender is mounted on a round metal plate, also called the "Taco Plate" (for obvious reasons).

the sender on top of the engine is for the oil-pressure idiot light, if it is right next to the dizzy ...
a picture of the top of your engine would help with identifying that one ...

do a search here for "Taco Plate" and you should come up with quite a few threads about the oil-temp sender location etc.
