The P.O owner of my car has done a few odds things as I'm discovering during the restoration. Heres the latest, any reason why they would splice this large red wire into the harness? I cut it but you can see in the pics where it spliced to the two main harnesses.

These are from another thread here. Yellow has something to do with the starter solenoid. Maybe stealing power there.

My guess is the PO installed an aftermarket switch for starting the car. It's common to have poor connections, high resistance in the ignition circuit and maybe adding a backup switch was their solution.

Not sure where they would add a switch? the red wire was spliced into the yellow wire which per Shivers diagram that goes to the starter relay and then ties into the main body harness, I guess i need to see what wire its tied to at that harness.
