Full Version: Which dash mounted starter switch to use?

After Bebe caught on fire, i'm a little nervous to replace bad switch with another 914 switch/weak switch.

Considering I would like to start another major undertaking like replacing the old fuse block and relays with modern ones...
This is my game plan.
1: Start with a dash mounted starter switch.
2: Find a new fuse block and fuse everything. About 15 fuses.
3: Switch everything individually. Kinda like a race car.
....a: Perhaps keep fuses next to switches for simplicity. I need all the help I can get when it comes to electronics...

What have you done to upgrade the electronics in your 914's?
Where can I find good cheap fuse blocks?

Any and all suggestions will be considered. except M's. sheeplove.gif LOL

Much thanks,
Roger

I can't remember where I ordered it. Do a search, for "push button starter". Thats how I found it.

Fine, I won't tell you that you can buy The big Red Button from Honda for around $40, and I won't tell you to google Big Red Button and Starter Switch

... no, I won't..

I got one of these several years ago for a Honda S2000:

significantly cheaper though, $20 IIRC.

...and since my wiring harness was trashed, I bought a ton of primary wire of different gauges, and a "Painless Wiring" 18 circuit fuse block........nothing left to do to it, but everything blink.gif , ought to be fun!

I also won't add that Kevin just posted a link to exactly what I was talking about, switch between $38-$50, then a hand full of doodads, that I also won't say a thing about.
