I got the registration renewal paperwork for Elvira in the mail today from the DMV. "No Smog Check Required" was my favorite part. The tax is only $6 because they list the cars value at $1800. My Stated Value Insurace Policy with Hagerty has a somewhat higher valuation. Don't ask about the extra 2 cylinders. The DMV paperwork says I have only 4. Add $33 for the registration fee and $10 for the special Classic Rod license plate.
For the measly pittance of only $49 I am good to go for the next 12 months.

Just renewed my '73 in Arizona: $17
In addition it cost $19 to go through the emission inspection.
So, I guess it is really $36 a year.

$25 here in Mississippi gets you an antique license plate for any vehicle over 25 years old and it NEVER has to be renewed. For $50 you can get the Street Rod plate for any vehicle over 25 years old and it also NEVER has to be renewed.
SMOG\Emissions......What's that?

minor correction for washington, collector plates are a $35 one time fee, but you must change them over BEFORE your current registration/tabs expire.
