I was messing with my licence plate lights and found this relay and harness under the left taillight housing. Any ideas?
Allan
Stupid camera that takes blurry close-ups.

That relay isn't stock. It's a common aftermarket part, though. Can't guess what it is.

edit: actually, that looks like only a relay jack, w/o a relay fitted.

That rely is for the smog ERG. I recently replaced it so that the erg lights would work upon start up.
Got my replacement at AA; and pretty resonable.
jim_hoyland
and... it was stock. I have the part number at home if you are looking to replace.
Allan
I just want to get rid of it. I don't have any smog stuff...

On page 58 of Haynes Porsche 914 owners manual, there is a oicture of it and the erg/cat that it is wired to. The erg/cat is located in the pasenger footwell.

Someone, like myself, will prolly want it for restoration purposes.
Allan
Jim,

You want the relay in the trunk or the counter under the footwell?

Lemme know and you can have it/them...
