I have an MSD ignition box left over from when my car had a 2.0 /4 ... should I try to use that or just stick to the stock CDI that came with my 2.7L six? Seems easier to hook up the MSD but I don't know. Also, with the MSD would I have to wide the gap of the new bosch plugs I got, I think they come gapped like .07 or something like that. Also, will the stock coil (black) even work with the MSD or would another be needed?

Most of us use the MSD with the six. either will do the job.

My personal thoughts are:

If I have a stock CD box and nothing else, I use it (i.e. maybe it came with the engine or something).

But MSD makes a better Box. Remember the technology of a stock CD box is 30+ years old and the box might well be that old as well. I like the MSD units. The car will start easier.

MSD if I have a choice. biggrin.gif

But there is nothing wrong with the stock CD box either.

OK sounds good to me... what about the coil and sparkplug gap?
