HELP!!!

take off the retainer clip (or whatever that thing is called), slide the CV off the shaft, pry the boot off, fill new one with plenty of grease, slide it all back on, secure with clip ...

voila!

can we get a AndyPic ™ of this clip you speak of?

So, it's pretty easy, huh?

I hope so, because I'm about out of time dry.gif

I have a had 1 joint come off without much problem with the axle assy still attached to the control arm, clip was a pain though.

The other joint I did was a complete pain, had to remove the whole axle assembly and BFH the CV off the axle (that was the one I was throwing out anyway).

Good luck!

just don't bang on the CV to get it off the shaft. carefully tap on the inner race to get the whole thing to slide off ...

oh, and be prepared for very possibly the most nastiest thing one can do on a 914.
taking off a CV ...

the clip is just the standard round clippy thing that sits in a groove and you use those special plyers to remove it.
they're used everywhere, like on the steering column ...
