I spent about 4-5 hours refinishing my Triad today... GULF ORANGE!!! WOOHOO!

In the elbows, at the HEs... scorched brown... sad.gif What the HELL?

How hot does it get back there?

exhaust temp at cylinder is 1400 - 1600 degrees.........

Usually burns where the exhaust pulse harmonics exist.......

real hot....

i thought 600deg paint was enough, thought very wrong.....

it turned kinda greyish-white, left some powdery stuff on the surface then went back to rusting....

Damn.. I bet those knuckles get about 1200 then... oh well... at least it won't rust anymore today.
