Was expecting the worst. Working under the car the donuts by the engine and a little of the firewall has rust. Finally got the balls to take off the side skirts, figuring I had no longs left. Here's what I found

the rivets are brass, and can be replaced easily... not permenant, not even semi. they come off and you should clean under them... have you even looked to see how they are attached? seriously, like 4 bolts(or screws) and a few rivets(drill 'em out)

it's been posted here before, did you have to hijack to find?

they should be plastic, however, any material will work for that application.....

that's right, my bad, I'm going back with brass, since I already have the right brass size.
