I know its not a 914 problem but this the tech area. Does a Fourrunner have brake pad wear sensors? Reason for asking is a good friend has one and when she steps on the brake the light on the dash blinks and her parking brake quit working. confused24.gif Any Toyota fans here.

You should edit the title line to include "OT:" at the front...

Check her brake fluid level. Lots of cars have fluid level sensors. If there are any wires leading to the reservior, that's it. Some cars also use one light for both the handbrake warning light AND the fluid level sensor, so the alternative is that the handbrake switch is broken, perhaps because something is wrong with her handbrake. The handbrake and the regular brakes should be totally and completely separate (other than that warning light), so a fault in one should not cause a fault in the other.
