Where or what kind of shop can I find the type of flexible cable that is similar to that used for a speedometer cable? The flexible cable that I am looking for is is actually larger in diameter (~.330") than what is used in the speedo cable but I was hoping that someone here could point me in the right direction.

Well if you were in San Diego I know of several places that sells both bulk inner an outer cable as well as all sorts of ends. In your area try to find a speedo repair shop, they are usually pretty small and see if they can help. There are also internet companies that sell "push-pull" cables and such and they are found by searching for control cables. I ones I found though all sell american size, no metric sizes were available?!
