that mystery car is definately NOT a pininfarina design ala Lancia!

It appears to be car with BMW M1 mid-engine car styling, maybe a model by PUMA?
olav

Looks like a Ferrari Dino GT-4.
Twystd1
Masserati

Pantera?

Maserati. I can tell by the rims and overall styling.
But which type, I have no idea...

So it is definitely NOT a Puma. What the hell izit?

The hood vents are oh so Lotus-onian...

It looks De Tomaso-ish to me...

OK, so it's not a Mangusta:

It looks to me like a bad kit car that's meant to remind people of a Pantera or an Esprit, without being anything like as attractive as either car. It also has a vague appearance of a Maserati Bora or Merak, but isn't either of those. It's not a Lancia Stratos. Nor is it a Puma:

Sure does look like a cheesy GT-4.

Looks like a Giugiaro design.

hard to tell from that picture
seems to be a BMW E3 (2500, 2800, 2.8L, 3.0S, 3.0Si, 3.3L or 3.3Li) - 4 door Sedan, 1968 to 1977
Gustl
after extensive google recherche I've found the solution smilie_pokal.gif

it's a Farus TS 1.8 from 1985
scruz914
Good job Gustl! What made you think it is from South America? Do you know who the designer is?

not really - but I know most of the european cars, at least the kind they designed their cars for the last 100 years
from the basic design it didn't look like an american or japaneese car, so I thought of the style from the Puma and VW SP2 and so on - try to transform this to a decade later and it looks like the Farus ...

so I googled for coupe & brazil and came to the solution mueba.gif

Great Job Gustl ! This one was driving me crazy!

I join one of the largest german Porsche forums. Quite a long time ago someone started a thread because he was bored. He posted a partial photo from an older car and asked to find it out. The guy who found out the correct answer was the next to start a new quiz ... well, this thread was like a landslide laugh.gif

It turned out that I was the one who solved almost every quiz when I was online - and in addition hardly anybody was able to solve my riddles rolleyes.gif

Therefore lots of them quit playing and it got a little uninteresting ... so I decided not to play the "easy ones". Now I just play tha game when nobody else finds a solution within a couple of days. And sometimes, when even I have no idea I ask you guys ... cool.gif

Maybe anybody would like to see my current pic - I took it last weekend on an oldtimer fair (I will post a little report when I've redone my pics)

That little red coupe is pretty sweet, looks like a Zagato bodied Fiat, Alfa, Simca?
SGB
Abarth Porsche?
Gustl
you guys react just the same as the german guys - they also thought it's something from Abarth or Zagato laugh.gif

but it's not happy11.gif
Dr. Roger
Lil red is surrounded by Brit's...

MG or Triumph?
goose2
Yeah...I bet it's British...the rear lenses look like Austin Mini. Could it be a Mini-Marcos?
Qarl
Not a Fiat Abarth?
Gustl

@ Qarl: the Fiat Abarth was a contrahend from the same period

sorry guys, I'll go to bed now - remember the time gap - it's 23:30 in Austria ...

No way... I know MG's and Triumphs...

Plus it appears to be rear engined... any proper englishman would never put an engine in the back of the car biggrin.gif

Like I said... no proper englishman would do it.

Hillman... bastard child at best.

Real British cars have the engine in the front, no roll up windows and intermitent electrical problems (usually when it rains) biggrin.gif
goose2
so if everyone has given up (I have)....I'd still like to know what that cool little red coupe is. unsure.gif
