Alright, the problem is that when I am crusing alson in 5th gear, and I need to down shift to 4th when slowing down, it requires a good amount of force to get it out of 5th gear, it seems to be stuck in 5th until you force it out. But the strange thing is is that it only happens in 5th and it only happens if it is in 5th for a few minutes. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be going wrong or has had the same problem? Any suggestions?

Kinda sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging all the way and that gear is particularly sensitive to that.

so would i need to tighten up the clutch cable?

Yah, that's what I'm thinking.

I would also add this...when was the last time you checked and changed the tranny gear oil???

It makes a huge difference in how the tranny performs.
