See other thread...it's aluminum....have you ever successfully "restored" threads in aluminum (without a timesert or helicoil)?

Just a question............

An "outside" helicoil, and then we could get custom made oil filters! idea.gif

or just nix the stock oil filter setup, tap for some nipples at the same location, run some rubber lines or whatever you want to a bug oil filter setup....seen it done, looks good.

If you dimple the oil cooler next to the bolt head you can get a 1/4 drive 13mm socket over the bolt for the oil filter adapter.

Then remove it and replace it.

BTDT.... But no one will believe that I can do it......

I am back in Fort Worth. Are you going to pay for the plane ticket? biggrin.gif
Aaron Cox
just drop the motor (1hr)
pull some of the surrounding tin and front cover (20 min)
pull engine bar (10 min)

SWAP out OIL FILTER console ( 20 min)

instalation is the opposite of removal.
