I'm getting my overkill calipers next week (same size as Big Reds, but cheaper...famous last words, LOL)

I'm going to need at least a 23mm m/c

Porsche used a 25.4 (1 inch) m/c which is hyd assisted on thier cars that came equipped with the big reds.

I did notice that the '76 911 3.0 Carrera came with a 23.81 m/c, but I really doubt this is available at a cost that wouldn't be more than my entire 914 smile.gif

You should be able to pick a new one up at your local Mercedes dealer or maybe your FLAPS...

PS, what calipers did you get?

Came in like 2 days or something from one of the regional parts distributor warehouses.

Be prepared to modify one of the resovoir tubes... and prepare to use both feet to stop the car.

I needed a longer rod from the brake pedal to the back of the m/c piston when I put mine in, it is easily made.

The 23.8 ATE master cylinder that Porsche used in the '76 911 is available new for about $150.

Hey Mike -- why exactly do you need 100lbs of brakes and a 23mm m/c? Isn't it a 2.0/four? wavey.gif
john rogers
Maybe he plans to brake just after the LAST braking cone instead of at the first one??!!

Ha ha.. good one John clap56.gif

Mueller has small balls (you know my saying)

(people with big brakes have small balls)

I have heard that the ATE Part Number should be 0024309301 or 03.2123-3402.3 or
Mercedes truck ATE part #3.2123-1003.3 confused24.gif

The same MC should be in MB 72-80 450SL, 73-80 450SLC, 72-76 280, 72-76 280C
non-power-brake cars. But, I am not sure about this too.

This is how it should look like
