I know that Weltmeister 180# springs have a blue stripe of paint on them.
What Weltmeister spring has a silver stripe on it? 140#?
Please help me out so I can figure out what I have.
Thanks

all my welt springs were labeled.... 180/140/100
do a spring test. get a ruler and a bunch of weight... compress spring one inch with X amount of weight.
X/bs per inch springs

thet appear to be a linear rate. put 100 lbs on em to see if they give an inch.
im guessing 100's or 140's

Dan,
I can calculate rate if you can :
Count the number of turns with the very tip of the wire being "zero"
Measure OD
Measure Wire size

11 turns
don't have calipers but as close as I can tell 13/32" wire diameter
or 11 mm.
spring OD 4.25"
Thanks

your 11mm is wire size....
OD of spring 2.5" 3" etc

if you cannot wait till Monday
spring calculator
not sure how accurate it is...I'm sure Patricks calculations come out better since he makes springs...

I'm almost positive that my old Weltmeister 140's has silver paint like that. Newer Weltmeisters are marked with actual numbers (what a concept!).

That is what I thought....just want to make sure what they are before I try to sell them. Don't want to misrepresent what I have to sell. I have a brand new set(nos) of welts with Blue stirpes on them.

Dan,
Using the numbers you gave me I calc under 100#'s assuming chrome silicon wire.
