What RPMs are you running at speeds of 60mph, because mine seem kind of high in my 73 2.0 at 2900.
in 5th gear.

I Don't know. never drive 60. 
3450 RPM's is about 80 4200 is about 105 in 5th
5800 in 4th is 110.
