I was under the car and had it jacked up, and i'm trying to understand (slowly) all the different parts of this car... This is right next to the tire, car being on the right... I'm dead clueless so help me out. unsure.gif

The other end (not pictured) of the tie rod is a rubber piece on stock tie rods, turbo tie rods have a ball joint. Metal on metal means more solid feel but more "road noise"/etc.

If you look under the rubber bellows close to the steering rack you will see a rubber U joint.

Turbo tie rods come with a tie rod assembly and a ball joint instead of the rubber U joint.

Well the turbo tie rods have a compressor that increases the amount of turning power the more you turn it... the n/a' like yours pictured, clearly dont...
