What's a pinky lifter? Someone who doesn't wrench on his own car? That wouldn't be me.
1970 Porsche 911. Did an engine/tranny drop to replace the shift rod, including modification of a stock shift rod to work properly with the 915 transmission. Next step: stripping the Fuchs and powdercoating them in Ford engine blue, which is close enough to the color of the car that no one is likely to call me on it.
1988 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL. Replaced the timing chain, upper timing chain guides, timing chain tensioner, cam oiling towers, water pump, radiator, belts... have a new hood pad but haven't had time to install it.
1977 Corvette. Complete body-on restoration a few years back. This car has more of my personal philosophy on craftsmanship and engineering than any other car I've ever owned. Completely powdercoated suspension, hihg-performance engine, handling upgrades, and some shiny things to make the engine compartment sparkle.

'74 914 with a 2156cc turbo
'67 VW Kombi with a 2007cc T1
'67 bug (resto-custom) with a 2.6L DTM T4
For the winter my '71 squareback...might put my stock 914 1.8 L-jet in it.
And something water-cooled for the wife...anything is better than the piece "O" shit '99 Passat 1.8T that she's driving right now.

Other than the Teener there’s the 58 Mercedes 190 SL, and ummmm well my 94 Ranger. You have to make some sacrifices to have a cool old sports car, and a 200,000 mile 4 cyl ranger is definitely a sacrifice.
