I am going to MegaSquirt my carbed 1.8, so I'm starting to collect some parts. I got a lead on some 1.7 d-jet stuff. Will it fit on my 1.8?

Thanks!

It will bolt right on. I personally would use the 1.8 runners with a 2.0 plenum.

No, they are different diameters with 2.0L being the largest at about 36/37mm.
Brad Roberts
Correct, but he cant easily bolt 2.0 runners onto his engine (I factored that in wink.gif )

Two questions going on here... wacko.gif

Are they the same? Nope. Aside from diameter differences, 1.7 & 1.8 have four mounting holes, 2.0 has three mounting holes.

Can you use 1.7 stuff on your 1.8? Sure, they're both four bolt manifolds.
Rotary'14
Great info! Thanks for the fast replys. Now for question 2, are the throttle body mounting points identical between the different plenums?

No, the 1.7,1.8 are sidedraft where the 2.0L sits on top of the plenum. The 2.0L plenum is bigger too which is gud.

Used to be my car.. but I dont recall who took the pic. I'm pretty sure you attended that event. I know I shot one pic of the OE 914Club sticker on the drivers side sail panel.

Why not simply drill a coupl'a holes in the 2.0 runners? should slap right on and match the 2.0 plenum.
Im actually doing this to my 1.7 ..swapping the P&C's and heads off a 1.8 and djet induction off of a 2.0 wacko.gif
Mueller
1.7 small ID

1.8/2.0 same larger ID (not by much, but different than the 1.7)

the 1.8 runners will mate up to the 2.0 plenum if you bend the runners a little

You also have to cut the runners down a bit.

BTRT (been there running that) wink.gif

I didnt know the ID on the runners for the 1.8 and 2.0 were the same? Mark what do you mean "cut down"? Trim the length of the tube ends?
Bleyseng
I think the 1.8's due to the plenum layout being a side draft TB are longer.

Hey, how's it going Rich?
