Since when do you need a subwoofer to listen to a police scanner?

I built one using the footwell insert as a mold, I glassed 1/2 of the inclosure pried that off when dry then did the other 1/2, glassed the two pieces together. I used a 8" Klipsh woofer I bought of ebay (new) for 30 bucks. It works great originally I did not port the inclosure but when I installed my console ( I did not have one when I built the subwoofer inclosure) it did not fit, I lopped off the left side ear and left it open for a port, the rest is history, It works great best thing I ever did next to front sway bars.
