Hi Jeff,

you're right, it's a really beautiful car wub.gif

but you were wrong, it's not german
the SP2 was designed by VW do Brazil and built by Karmann do Brazil
it had nothing to do with Germany and was never available in Europe sad.gif

these cars are very very rare in Europe - but the VW Museum in Wolfsburg has one - IIRC they imported a good original one from Brazil in 1997

I really love this colour sceme:

I guess a 2.0 914 engine would be easier to install - and cool too
the SP2 only has a standard type 3 engine with 54 PS - that's too less, no doubt

Looks like a VW version of a 240Z only better. Can these still be found in Brazil and imported? Probably all rusted away by now.

Given the dimensions, a T4 might be a REAL tight squeeze in there. The Cap'n

I saw the VW logo and thought everything VW was from the land of the Rhine...

Jim - I found this model by looking at the FS posts on a Type III site:

might be possible, but you have to be very patient, I think

only a little more than 10,000 units were built ...

lots of them might look like this one happy11.gif
