I need a little bit of help from the gear heads .Im trying to sell a side shift tranny,and i'm not sure of the gear ratio in a 914 tranny .Here's the question the guy is asking me.......

(How are the gear ratio's in your tranny? I have a VW sand rail with a car IRS tranny and it has 3:42 ring and pinion. It sucks so bad with the 31" tires. I was going to go to a bus with a 5:13 or so. How do you think yours would handle. How tall of tires does this style porch run and how many RPM does it drop between shifts.)

31" tires are pretty tall. However most sand rails are pretty light. What kinda motor is he using? Going to need lots of torque. Hope he don't have one of them whimppy type 1 motors.
