smilie_pokal.gif cool man!!

I was in ARCH the first 2 years of college before bailing to have a inkling of a life... hats off to you if you stick with it... 18 class-hour semesters that translate to 80-hour weeks of work was a B*tch!

have you read any of the Francis D.K. Ching books? that guy is amazing!

Ching is pretty amazing.
Sitting next to me at my desk right now.

That guy just travels the world drawing and sketching.
my dream job.

thank for the compliments guys!
its nice when you put so much time into something.

and yes, the hours are killing me.
10 hours sleep in the past three days.

I've also had to switch off the internet during designated study periods,
because of the 914club. clap.gif

your work is great. I would like to see your work on some of the great buildings in the Santa Barbara area.

hang in there... I hope you don't try and top my record... 4 days, 6 hours, all 6 was on the bench outside of the studio...

no, I wasn't procractinating, either... I'd been working steady, and was almost done with the model, the board needed 2 more drawings for detail, and I would be done... so I took off with some friends, came back the next morning to continue, the model was smashed by someone, who'd broke into my locker on the desk... so I went from almost done to about 80 hours behind... and 4 days until the project was due... that was one of the final straws that made me leave Architecture...

Great collection of buildings, especially the Sherman-Gilbert house! I grew up in San Diego and don't remember ever seeing it. Where in SD is it located? Can you go inside?

If you're ever up San Francisco way be sure to see the Haas-Lilienthal house, both the inside and outside.

brer
the gilbert house was slated for demolision if you can believe it.
some local people put the funds together to have it moved near old town, where its now part of a group of old buildings that were moved to be saved.

as you can see by the sign in the window, its for rent. wink.gif

Thanks! I'll be in SD around New Years. I'll definitely stop at Old Town and check out the Sherman-Gilbert house.
brer
Let me know when you're in town,
I have a great book on SD architecture you could borrow.
Good visitors guide to old buildings, with addresses and maps.

also, that thing about the model breaking... oh man i would die. I spent so much time on my last one, having it busted would make me want to kill someone.

As far as finishing goes, we'll see. Its already creating stress on the homefront. wacko.gif but Kelly is a real sweetheart about my studying.
