Hey there y'all. My brother and I are elbows deep in 914 restoration and will soon (like tomorrow) be putting it back together (welding floorpan, firewall, installing tank, rebuilding engine etc) and had some questions.

1. We have a carbed car and are replacing the fuel lines. What are return lines, how do they help, do we need them and how would we install them (how do they connect to what etc) Also, which tube on the bottom of the tank is the suction tube for the fuel pump, the little skinny one or the bigger one?

2. Does anyone have a good photo or description of the outer firewall holes and what all goes through them. Ours was rusted away when we got it so we have not a clue.

We are in Columbia, MD if anyone wants to swing on buy and play with a dissassembled teener.

Can't help at the moment on a picture of the firewall... But fuel return lines are for higher pressure fuel injected engines. Carbed engines, which run at much lower fuel pressure generally don't need return lines. But hey, as long as you're in there... biggrin.gif

What comes out of the firewall though? Everything. Two fuel lines, thottle cable, clutch cable, speedo cable, brake line, shift linkage, and electrical... blink.gif
