If you have a vise, don't drive the pin out but press it out as follows:

Use a bolt slightly smaller than the pin, a deep socket and a vise.
Clamp the bolt so as to drive against the pin and push it into the socket. You don't need to remove the pin all the way, just enough to get the joint apart.

I reassemble by again using the vice against the pin with the socket on the other side to support the joint.

Use some sealer on the side shift console when you bolt it back on the transmission. Mine leaked and I had to take it back apart a few weeks later. The recommended sealer is the aviation non-hardening stuff. I used the green Kuril stuff and it worked perfect.

that was by far... the WORST 914 task iv ever done. id rather do an alternator change....on a six......in the snow.....weaing shorts and sandals.....

of course....pin is rusted in place. all "press" attempts failed....
hammer and punch worked.....after 20 minutes.

of course...camera dies when pressing on reassembly dry.gif

its done. with all this work i should have gone bronze bushings........

the bad....
