Cool, I like how they libe up with the taillights too.
What's with the mismatched plates? That'd get you pulled over SOOOOO fast in CA.

Only the rear plate is valid in Indiana. The front plate is from my old 73 914. (RIP )

Don't do the stripes in paint! Do them in vinyl. Should be a fairly easy install, and it's much less complicated if you ever have to re-paint part of the car. Plus you can "refresh" the stripes (or change your mind about them) at any time.

there was also one where the stripes were wider and filled out the whole space between the headlights ...
in any case, i believe that was available as an factory option. i remember that posche had a 914 at a car show (IAA?) with those stripes ...

my opinion - don't do this
I think it would look "too fat" (hard to express in a foreign language )

Those hood decal numbers looks like the font that was used in the '70 movie "Rollerball" with James Caan.
Very cool at the time.

Very nice touch with the stripes, but leave that middle part orange
I also like goose2's offset rallye stripe. If I ever get my paint redone, I think that is the direction I would go

I went to a local sign shop here. Got a roll of 16 inch black vynil and a little instruction on what to do. Got home and turned up the heat in the garage to 75 let the car body get warm and just went for it. It took a little over an hour to do.

Looks great, Garold! Ought to chop at least a second off your AX times.
BTW, your t-shirt went out in the mail today and if your mom's up to it I'd like to get a service cover. After the hospital stay I figured - what the Hell am I saving for - and ordered one of Jake's engine kits. My kid's getting too good with his Miata and ole Dad's going to need a little extra hp to keep ahead of him.
