Cool, I like how they libe up with the taillights too.

What's with the mismatched plates? That'd get you pulled over SOOOOO fast in CA. smile.gif

Only the rear plate is valid in Indiana. The front plate is from my old 73 914. (RIP sad.gif )

no paint this year. Suspension work starts in January.
Dave_Darling
Don't do the stripes in paint! Do them in vinyl. Should be a fairly easy install, and it's much less complicated if you ever have to re-paint part of the car. Plus you can "refresh" the stripes (or change your mind about them) at any time.

Your wish is granted, Sir Andy...

thank you sir!

there was also one where the stripes were wider and filled out the whole space between the headlights ...

in any case, i believe that was available as an factory option. i remember that posche had a 914 at a car show (IAA?) with those stripes ...

my opinion - don't do this

I think it would look "too fat" (hard to express in a foreign language wacko.gif )

I'm not a graphic works guru, but it could give you an idea what I'm thinking about ...

Those hood decal numbers looks like the font that was used in the '70 movie "Rollerball" with James Caan.
Very cool at the time.

Very nice touch with the stripes, but leave that middle part orange

I also like goose2's offset rallye stripe. If I ever get my paint redone, I think that is the direction I would go biggrin.gif
JmuRiz
Where did you go about getting the vinyl for this?
Stripes look great BTW!
GaroldShaffer
I went to a local sign shop here. Got a roll of 16 inch black vynil and a little instruction on what to do. Got home and turned up the heat in the garage to 75 let the car body get warm and just went for it. It took a little over an hour to do. smile.gif

Looks great, Garold! Ought to chop at least a second off your AX times.

BTW, your t-shirt went out in the mail today and if your mom's up to it I'd like to get a service cover. After the hospital stay I figured - what the Hell am I saving for - and ordered one of Jake's engine kits. My kid's getting too good with his Miata and ole Dad's going to need a little extra hp to keep ahead of him.
GaroldShaffer
Thanks Bill. Glad your still with us. A Raby kit clap.gif that should be fun. If you are down this way give me a call and we can get some chowtime.gif beer3.gif

Curious...How do you get away with different front & back license plates?

Indiana only uses the rear plate. So I put the plate from my old 73 (RIP sad.gif ) on the front.
sk8kat1
so what did the roll of blk vinyl run you ?

btw I really like the stripes!
GaroldShaffer
$25 but I know the guy. He has done a lot of racer cars for members in my SCCA region.

Hi Where did you get the Porsche 70 decals ? I think they look great and I could use them to hide a paint flaw on my drivers door.
Thanks Paul F.
