All I know is that it showed up with the wording in mostly consonents and a very limited use of vowels..

These translators keep getting better, but no match for a human interpreter. Somebody critique club site:

It seems to resemble asian text when you don't have the "asian language plug-in" or something similiar to that. I don't have the correct plug-in installed on this computer, but I bet it probably is Japenese too.

Yup, .jp is Japanese site. You do need the plugins from Microsoft.

I can confirm it is Japanese. I used our favorite German translator Babel fish, http://babelfish.altavista.com/ and it does a pretty good job.

Hmmm... As others have pointed out, maybe you need some sort of plugin to display the Japanese
characters. It worked just fine on my Mac at home though somewhat less fine from Firefox on
my Solaris box at work.
