Speaking as a lucky double digit member(unfortunately the only double digit member I own) I'd like to thank all the members, and mostly the admins for their efforts...it's the best car not-a-club I've ever been in....shit other than PCA, it's the only car not-a-club I've ever been in Brad, Andy, Joereon, et. al. have done the heavy lifting and everyone else just pitched in...I think in psychiatric terms it's a folie a deux....call me crazy but I feel lucky to be a part of it.....

Just curious, how many of the 'early' members are still around after 3 years? I know for the most part, 914's seem to get in the blood long term but then again there are quite a few long-gone people I remember from back in the Rennlist 914 email list days or even earlier.

I didn't get into the double-digit club, but I got in pretty early. My son told me about 914Club. I probably would have known about it sooner, but I made it a point to stop reading the messages on RennList that preceeded 914Club's creation so I didn't know this was happening.

Each time a new person is introduced to me.. this is the way I feel. I feel that the family just embraced yet another 914 owner.

I'm proud of how this has grown. Each day I try and figure out how to me more involved (get back into the thick of things) Just when I think I have some free time, something else pulls me away.

I was embarassed towards the end of the first year. I had something like 5k posts.. I started over at that point

Some 914 events I will never forget:

Attending JP's gathering up north

Attending Seans first "Fall Foliage"

Attending multiple Hot Springs 914 events

Driving up the ramp to WCC #1 in San Jose and seeing all the cars and people.

Standing back at the WCC AutoX and wondering how in the hell we managed to hold our own 914 AutX ????

Getting hammered with Joe Sharp @ WCC #2 in the "camper"

Standing back once again at the "Streets" event wondering how in the hell we managed not to have ANY incidents..

I recall the first intial meetings with Doug Wright/Randall Wentzel and Glenn Stazak on what we should do with the domain name.

I miss all the AutoX'ing in the SF bay area.

Oh yeah.. WCC #2. driving/riding with Demeck working the throttle in his 914 in traffic..LOL

It is very cool to be involved with everyone. Soo many really really fond memories.

Congrates on the 3rd birthday!!! When we are having fun, time does fly. I have enjoyed every minute of participating, thread reading, and associating with the different members. I have to have my daily 914 fix by reading the threads to learn and feed my curse of having a 914.

I am a fairly early member to the board, but do not post regularly. I find myself reading the threads to learn and keep informed on what is going on in the 914 world. I just continue to collect 914-4 and 914-6 parts to build my desired goal of a replica 914-6GT.

Belonging makes me feel good since we have been through so much the past three years. Korjo's van purchase and its problems; help and advice from different members supporting the 914 club; Brad and Andy hair colors; the parts meets in Northern California; the area or regional members getting together in groups; WCC; etc. It is because of the membership makeup, type of people involved, the car itself, helping hands given, etc. that I belong. I do belong to other car club or associations (Lotus, Alfa Romeo, Corvette) but it is the vibrance of the 914 club that keeps me involved and learning.

Thanks Brad, Andy, and all the rest that I would like to give credit by name (the whole membership list) for what we have. The best and "primo" group of "car nuts" in the entire world.

The board is a nearly daily staple for me, although I haven't posted much, as my 914 has been in restoration. I've retreived her in the last couple weeks after a long haiatus. 2006 should see her running and a bunch of fun stuff installed.
