It slides on with the slot of the female spade connector toward the body. See the small diameter pin below the flat head? The pin fits in the slot of the connector.

Does that help?

i think i get it.... but i think i need a pic...

wait... pretty sure i get it...
TimT
hmm ok it gets bent 90 deg and then fits over the sender

you gonna make me go out in the cold and take pics? (which I wont do tonight anyhoo)

I know you are a studying engineering... look at greatest dimension of those eletrical connectors

Make it fit.. it will work.. nothing special is needed to use that sender

maybe tomorrow. it is the sender for the 911 gauge...shouldnt be an issue.....

my temp wire disapeared...so i need to make a new one. need 14ga green and some heatshrink/heatshield
TimT
Yikes Aaron. take any spade connector and just slide it over that "glow plug" thing...

usually the connector is bent 90 deg, so the harness is neater

Aaron Cox
i get it now.
sorry for being dense....

why dont they just put a spade connector! chair.gif

sorry....and thanks.... pray.gif

What rating was the original, and what is the one you put in? I think mine in my 74 is a 200, and the other is a 150.

The one in the right side of the photo, does it read 150 max?

why dont they just put a spade connector!

1) the engine moves a bit especially on stock mounts. the terminal is thus free to rotate on the sender rather than stressing the wire.
2) the terminal always attaches exactly the same way no matter how the threaded sender happens to index into the case.

why would you do it any other way? oh yeah - straight push-on terminals are cheaper...
