When I first looked at it I thought it was just a replacement head for a 6 cylinder and almost closed it out. It's pretty amazing to think of this for a Type IV. I don't want to even think about how much a set will cost once they get done, but the performance would be pretty amazing!

I found a british magazine at the book store...
It had a beetle with 420 hp.
the guy had a type 4 case, crank, p/c's
He had 911 heads.
He welded the mounting holes closed, and re-drilled them for the type 4 studs.
he used golf parts for overhead cam belt drive components.
It looked really cool, and similar to what these guys are up to.

I just read that same article, the british VW mag, it was a chocolate brown dragster on the cover....wicked engine and definitely some new ideas flowing after reading through it. It made me think a little of a bug project...naw!

These are way to cool...imagine the $$$ I am even more surprised I haven't seen this in the Type1 world. But I don't follow it much.
Some guy has even adapted Subazoo heads on a Type4. Got to admire these guys, for pluggin at this.
