This is the -6 pickup that I saw a Gunnar's shop this past summer. It was is this exact condition. I saw these pics on that site and wondered how someone was allowed to take them. Kevin would not allow me to take any pictures of it.
This is not the original condition of it. It was in a accident several years ago and Kevin had it restored but the job was not completed. He said he brought it back from the guy's shop and it has been sitting as shown for 10+ years.

I don't think this one was ever brown. The Aase Bros' -4 was brown. That one is in private collection.

If I remember there were two. One was a 4 and the other a 6. One was brown.....not sure if it was the 6 or the 4.....

Orange = -6, but this was brown at one time. I just reread the articale in my blog.
Only two were made.

Interesting, where is the gas tank going or why is the front trunk sheetmetal gone? Nice restoration!
Put a bed tonneau and it will resemble a Lotus Europa...

I can't answer that.
I like this detail....but I think there is too much play in the rod connections. Unless those are real rod ends than its good.

That is awesome that it's being redone to such a high quality.
The above is true, but the brown 4 is now red.

yes, just pictures.
I've talked to the owner, very nice person, and he's very private and does not wish to discuss the truck publicly.

You can have your very own 914-6 Pickup. I have a couple of 914-6 Pickup models left. $75.00. Not very big, but who else has one??

What scale is the model?
Be sure to find the VIN of the pickup, that is very important to nail down.

Or you can go to Grand Prix Models and do a search for Porsche 914 and Porsche 916 and find several kits and built models, including the pick-up. Not cheap, but that is the way it goes with this type of kit. Grand Prix Models is a very good mail order company with very good service, IMHO.

Not a factory job. Go to my blog, I've scanned and posted a articale from an old mag that tells the story of the 2 cars.

thats not his only cool/amazing car in that collection either.
I have never been granted an audience into his warehouse, but from speaking to those that have....
there are over 50 wonders of nature in there!

On the Barrett Jackson Auction yesterday, there was a guy who bought a Oldsmobile show car for a cool $3million and said it was going to be shown in a muesum that was opening on Colorado...I wonder if this guy is part of that?

I caught a newspaper mention of that museum a month ago or so...
I think its a different one.
this guy is way too private and doesn't want his autos displayed. In fact I was told that all of them (or at least the 50 number, were all porsches)
Brittian,
there is a 912 in that collection you would like
its a 76 912 with an original 48miles. (yes I said 48)

Don't think so, this guy is strictly porsche.
I have heard about that muesum too, and saw the car from last years barrett jackson your talking about. But have not found out too much about what the muesum is.

Isn't there also a guy in Colo with a collection of early cars and a shop just like the early P-car workshop in Austria? But he opens his shop up every year for a PCA tour.

yep..
george maybe.
his collection is much smaller.
probably 15 cars, and not show cars per say
but he has like 3-4 porsche tractors and those are pretty unique.
His event is called Gmund
and it became too much work to hold every year.
so its now a bi-annual event.
luckily 2006 is the "on" year, so it will be fun to go to again this summer.
His collection is much smaller, and the event is more about the cool barn that he built, and enjoying his enthusiasm
Part of the event is called a "schlepper-cross"
where he lets people race the tractors on a dirt autox track in the field. I've never done it, but how often do you get a chance to drive a porsche tractor...
(I think I'm going to try and sign up this year!)
