I just got my ignition switch, does not match exactly, has anyone ever had to trim one of these to make it fit, it came from advance and it shows as right part.

I just checked the part 3 for a 1973 the picture looks the same as the one i need, my car is a 1974 but will order the one for a 73.

I think if you have a '74 from early in the model year run, there is a possibility that you would have '73 parts. On my car for example, I am told that the gauges are of an older style, with a little silver button in the middle of the temp/fuel gauge

Looks like they sold you a 75-76 model switch. I would have to double check in the parts stash though.

yup, trimmed it with a dremel, worked fine.
